Easing automation challenges

Datasensing is Datalogic’s Sensors, Safety, Machine Vision, and Micro Detectors range. Developing, manufacturing, and supplying 222 product lines with more than 22,500 standard and custom part numbers.

Headquartered in Italy, Datasensing are committed to easing automation challenges, including machine vision deep learning software and innovating sensing solutions for the industrial automation market.

OEM Automatic are a distributor/supplier for Datasensing in the UK and Ireland.

Machine Vision

The machine vision range from Datasensing includes a range of smart devices for in-line automated inspection and factory automation. The range includes smart cameras, industrial cameras, and industrial vision processors.

Smart camaras are self contained vision inspection systems for easy integration.

The Datasensing range of GigE industrial digital cameras feature the latest CMOS imagers with resolutions from VGA up to 5MP.

Industrial vision processors enable multi-camera vision solutions.

Sensors

Sensors are essential for presence detection, inspection or assembly, and for measuring dimensions, distance, or position, in the industrial automation industry. Datasensing supply a range of photoelectric, ultrasonic and inductive sensors.

Photoelectric sensors are available in many sizes, versions, and functionalities, for different detection applications from the smallest to the fastest moving objects, different surfaces, colour or even invisible fluorescent marks, as well as dimensions and distance measurement.

Inductive sensors are designed specifically for metal parts detection at shorter distances, they are suitable for harsh environments as they are resistant to dust, liquids, oil, or grease.

Application Sensors

A wide range of special sensors can be found for applications that require greater accuracy or more demanding detection. Light curtains cover a larger area, fork photocells are suitable for accurate identification. Luminescence and colour sensors are suitable for the detection of fluorescent substances and different colors. Label sensors available for identification of various labels and marks. Laser sensors with analog outputs can be found to measure distance with an accuracy of up to 1mm.

Standard Photoelectric Sensors

Basic photoelectric sensors are available in either M18 barrel or block form design, covering almost all industrial applications. Both the M18 and block form models are available with either plastic or metal housing, The M18 models have options of either radial or axial optics. The range also includes laser models as well as a number of special versions, such as models for transparent objects. We offer a variety of accessories with a wide range of connectors, brackets and reflectors. Datasensing is merging Datalogic’s Sensor & Safety and Machine Vision business unit with M.D. Micro Detectors, both with 50 years of experience. Sensors are indispensable for the industrial automation of plants and machinery in a wide range of industries and applications, from manufacturing to logistics. Manufacturing industry applications include factory automation of automotive and electronics plants; food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical goods processing and packaging machines; up to almost any machinery used in woodworking, metalworking, textile, ceramic, glass, stones, paper, etc. Logistics applications are diffused in automated material handling, conveyors, storage and retrieval systems, automated warehouses, transportation systems, and distribution centers. Photoelectric sensors are devices that use the emission and reception of light to detect the presence of objects or their parts, inspect their integrity or correct assembly, measure their dimensions, distance or correct positioning.

Inductive sensors

Inductive sensors are used for position indication, impulse or motion detector for metallic objects. The sensor has no moving parts and is therefore suitable for applications with high contact frequency. Due to the compact and easy-mounted design of the sensor as well as the contact-free function, the sensor is normally not subjected to mechanical wear. We can offer a range of units from M5 to M30 in cylindrical formats, as well as a range of rectangular units.

SVS Sensor

The Smart-VS can detect the presence of parts such as a cap or label on bottles or vials, on any material or surface including glass, plastic, metal, and shiny objects. Typical applications include filling, closing, and packaging machines but the versatility of the Smart-VS makes it suitable for use in other sectors such as automotive or automatic assembly of mechanical or electronic parts. It also finds some it's greatest uses in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics packaging sectors.

Safety

Safety devices are essential in industrial automation for protecting operators in potentially hazardous areas, plants, or machinery. Datasensing can provide a range of safety devices, including safety lights curtains, safety laser scanners and LIDAR.

Safety light curtains and barriers are photoelectric safety devices that provide protection from hazardous machinery and can monitor large areas. Infrared beams are transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver and when interrupted a dual output stop signal can stop machinery from operating.

Safety laser scanners are suited for configurable protection and can even be used in dynamic applications such as robot cells and automated guided vehicles. Designed to withstand the harshest environments, safety laser scanners have a 275° viewing angle and can be combined to give full 360° protection of an area, with safety and warning zone functionality.

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses time-of-flight infrared laser technology to construct a 360° view for the guidance of automated guided vehicles, laser guided vehicles and automated guided forklifts. Lidar can be mounted on suitable vehicles to provide laser-based navigation by providing distance and intensity measurement to the guidance systems.

Guidance Scanner

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses laser-based time-of flight (ToF) technology to construct a 360-degree view for the guidance of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Laser Guided Vehicles (LGV) and Automated Guided Forklifts (AGF). Datalogic’s LGS-N50 is a compact, rugged navigation Lidar which can be mounted on suitable vehicles to provide laser-based navigation by providing distance and intensity measurement to the AGV guidance systems. With its compact size and simple Ethernet UDP protocol, the LGS-N50 is easy to fit and simple to configure. Combined with Laser Sentinel safety laser scanners, Datalogic offers manufacturers of Automated Vehicles a complete solution for automated vehicle guidance.

Safety Laser Scanner

The Enhanced Safety Laser Sentinel (SLS) from Datalogic is an innovation in workplace safety, able to operate in static (e.g. perimeter or access protection, robot cells) or dynamic (e.g. AGVs, autonomous mobile robots, forklifts) environments, ensuring the safety of staff and improving efficiency at the same time. The Laser Scanner Enhanced is designed to withstand the harshest of environments with its tough industrial housing. It has a 275° viewing angle, this, when placed on the corner of an area, gives complete protection of two sides of a machine or vehicle. Combining two of these can give you complete 360° protection of an area, up to 4 units can be connected and used for safety or warning functionality. Safe zones measure up to 5.5m and can let you know when an object greater than 70mm enters, warning zones extend to up to 40m.
