Optics

Correct lensing and appropriate use of optical filters is a critical part of any machine vision system.
In addition to selecting the correct focal length (FL) to provide the required field of view (FoV) at the required working distance (WD), the lens must suit the detector size, camera resolution and provide to appropriate aperture range (f number) to meet the overall vision system demands.
Your application may require varifocal, macro, zoom, telecentric or bi-telecentric lenses. It may require S, C-S, C, E, F, 42mm or larger format mount options and might be for area scan or line scan cameras. No matter what, we can guide you on all aspects of the lens selection process.
Optical Filters can be used to block all put the required part of the visual spectrum, polarise light, reduce the amount of light entering the camera and other functions to improve image quality. Again, OEM Automatic can provide the technical assistance required to select the correct filter.
OEM Automatic’s machine vision team is always pleased to provide technical support for selecting the correct lenses and filters for your application. We represent an extensive range of leading optical manufacturers to ensure the best possible component selection.

The lens must be able to properly illuminate the whole sensor area without shading and vignetting. The perfect machine vision lens will produce images that capture the object, including all details and brightness variations.<br />OEM Automatic stocks and supplies a large range of lenses from leading suppliers, to suit your machine vision and surveillance applications. Our range includes: S-mount, C-mount, E-mount and F-mount lenses from Basler, Azure, Kowa, Ricoh and others, for VGA to 61MP cameras.
