Bistable Latching Solenoids

A bistable latching solenoid allows for the solenoid to be held either open or closed with power removed.

The initial stroke is made by electromagnetic forces when the coil is energised. Returning the solenoid shaft requires a reverse polarity together with external forces or a spring mounted inside the solenoid.
