Meet the Taurus Float Switch range from Tecnoplastic – available exclusively through OEM Automatic.
Backed by a patented triple-chamber design, the Taurus range is engineered for enhanced durability and longer operational life. The innovative construction reduces the risk of internal condensation and failure, making it ideal for demanding environments and critical level control applications.
Tecnoplastic is an Italian manufacturer specialising in high quality float switches and filters, founded in 1994 but built on hydraulics and electromechanical experience that goes back to the 1970s. All design, moulding, assembly and final testing are carried out in their own facility in Saonara, near Venice, ensuring complete control over quality and “Made in Italy” production.
Today they supply pump manufacturers, water treatment plant builders, panel builders and distributors worldwide, with products widely used in clean water, wastewater and industrial process applications.
Tecnoplastic operates an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system and offers float switches approved to major international standards such as UL, TUV and EX, giving customers robust, reliable solutions for demanding level control duties.
The Taurus uses a patented “float inside a float” construction: three sealed chambers wrapped around the switching element and integrated counterweight. This triple barrier virtually eliminates condensation and water ingress, keeps the float fully submerged and stable, and delivers the kind of long term reliability standard weighted floats struggle to match.
The core design stays the same across the range, with variants tuned for different jobs.
The standard Taurus covers most wastewater and drainage pits;
Whichever model you choose, you get a robust IP68, 20 metre rated float that reduces call outs, protects pumps and keeps your level control running smoothly.
1. First watertight chamber
2. Second watertight chamber
3. Third watertight chamber
4. Spherical plastic seal: it augments the structural resistance of the float and weighs on the expanded polystyrene crown cap beneath creating the third watertight chamber
5. Final thermoplastic sealing: it fuses the various plastic parts together into one single piece.
6. Expanded polystyrene crown cap: it compresses the metallic grit
7. Metallic grit
8. Cable gland
9. Rubber grommet: tested at 5 bar
