IDEM MMZ Non Contact Safety Switches
The MMZ is IDEM’s stainless‑steel, mirror‑polished (316 SS, Ra4 finish) non‑contact RFID safety interlock switch, designed with high-level anti‑tamper coding in compliance with Type 4 of ISO 14119 and achieving functional safety up to CAT4, SIL 3, PLe in accordance with ISO 13849‑1. It features dual-channel PNP OSSD outputs and an auxiliary output, enabling series wiring of up to 30 devices to simplify wiring and diagnostics while retaining full safety integrity. The switch operates on a 24 V DC supply (±10%), draws ~25 mA with no load, and delivers OSSD outputs rated at 100 mA per channel with <1.5 V voltage drop. Its sensing characteristics include up to 10 mm sensing distance with a recommended 3 mm actuator gap, tolerating ±5 mm misalignment in any direction. The MMZ is rated to IP67/IP69K, allowing it to withstand high‑pressure washdowns and CIP/SIP cycles, with diagnostics via a wrap‑around polycarbonate LED lens for full visibility of guard, code, input and output status.
The compact form factor of the MMZ, makes it especially suited for environments with stringent hygiene demands such as food, beverage, and pharmaceutical production. Its smooth exterior and sealed lens eliminate contamination traps and facilitate thorough cleaning.
