IDEM Z- Series Rope Pull Switches

GLM-Z, GLS-Z, GLHD-Z, GLHL-Z, GLHR-Z, GLM-SS-Z, GLS-SS-Z, GLHD-SS-Z, GLHL-SS-Z, GLHR-SS-Z

IDEM’s Z‑Range die‑cast safety rope pull switches (models GLM‑Z, GLHL‑Z, GLHD‑Z) feature robust yellow die‑cast metal housings with IP67 protection, designed to endure industrial conditions. Each unit incorporates dual OSSD channels plus an auxiliary PNP output, delivering coded 24 V pulse signals that self‑monitor for faults like wire breaks or shorts, crucial for safety‑rated architectures. Cable runs vary by model, from 30 m on the mini‑duty GLM‑Z to 100 m per switch in the heavy‑duty GLHL‑Z and GLHD‑Z, enabling flexible installation across extensive systems. Activation, either by pulling on the rope or grabbing the wire, generates a failsafe fault condition detected immediately by the OSSD logic.

These switches are ideal for safeguarding long conveyor lines, assembly belts, or machinery zones where fixed guarding isn’t feasible. The dual-channel OSSD output integrates seamlessly into SIL 3/PLe safety controllers, allowing up to dozens of switches in series while maintaining continuous diagnostics. Whether for short spans with the GLM‑Z, medium runs with GLHL‑Z (100 m), or extra‑long reaches using multiple GLHD‑Zs, these units enable quick emergency shutdowns by pulling anywhere along the rope. Their rugged IP67-rated die‑cast housings make them suitable for harsh environments reliable operation in industries from manufacturing to mining.
