Product description

The S202A‑MV is part of Inxpect’s Plug & Safe 200 Series, using 60 GHz FMCW millimetre-wave radar to monitor volumetric spaces for human presence. For configuration three parameters (height, length, width) are needed, supporting maximum detection volume of around 48 m³, with installation heights from 2.5 m to 3 m and lateral span ±2 m. The sensor is ruggedly built with a PA66 front and aluminium back, rated to IP67, and operates in temperatures from –30 °C to +60 °C. It draws just 2.6 W at 12 V DC via robust M12 5‑pin connectors and supports CAN-bus communication (120 Ω termination required). Integration is enhanced by the intuitive Inxpect Safety Studio, allowing 3D visualisation of coverage for fast and accurate commissioning.
Designed to prevent unexpected machinery restarts, the S202A‑MV monitors hazardous zones to ensure operators are clear before enabling automated processes. It complies with EN ISO 10218-2 safety standards, making it an ideal fit for robotic cells, loading areas, conveyors, and any scenario where a machinery restart with personnel present would pose a risk. Radar-based detection remains reliable even in environments challenged by dust, smoke, humidity, or visual obstruction while its compact design eases retrofit into both new and existing systems.
