Product description

The S202A‑MS is a compact, robust safeguarding radar sensor from Inxpect’s 200 Series Plug & Safe line, operating at 60 GHz V‑band using FMCW radar technology. It delivers a maximum detection distance of 4 m, with dynamic horizontal and vertical coverage up to 90° in the vertical plane. Designed for industrial-grade reliability, it features IP67 protection, operates in a wide temperature range, and draws approximately 2.6 W at 12 V DC via rugged M12 5‑pin connectors (one male, one female). The housing is constructed of PA66 and aluminium, offering robust durability. Configuration is streamlined, only setup of two parameters (height and length) is required, using Inxpect Safety Studio software, which supports 3D visualisation of the detection zone for precise commissioning.
Specifically engineered for safeguarding applications, the S202A‑MS functions as a virtual protective barrier: when an individual enters the defined hazardous zone, machine operation is immediately halted. It meets stringent safety standards including EN ISO 10218‑2 and SIL2/PLd certifications, making it suitable for safeguarding open factory settings, robotic workcells, loading docks, conveyor zones, and similar high-risk areas. Thanks to its advanced radar capability, it maintains performance even in challenging environments, dusty, smoky, or visually obstructed, outperforming traditional optical safety systems. Its compact design and seamless software integration also make it ideal for both new installations and retrofits across industries such as automotive, packaging, woodworking, logistics, and beyond.
