Linear transducers are used to measure an absolute linear position with high accuracy, such as woodworking machines, lathes, material handling, traverses, etc. The sensor is almost completely insensitive to dirt and moisture and can therefore be used in difficult environments, it is dense and has no moving parts. The sensor is mounted to read on a magnetic tape with self-adhesive underside.
