Product description

The Blitzductor connect compact series, such as the BCO CL2 B‑180, are ultra‑slim surge arresters (just 6 mm wide) designed to protect up to two single‑line circuits (e.g., shielded data or equipotential bonding lines). They feature tool‑free push‑in connections for fast installation, built‑in LifeCheck and visual status LEDs, and optional remote signalling ensuring maintenance teams always know whether the unit is operational. These Type 1 SPDs meet EN/IEC 61643‑21 and 22 standards, support impulse categories C2, C3, B2, and D1, and handle continuous operating voltages up to 180 V DC/127 V AC. In the event of surges, they can divert up to 5 kA (8/20 µs) per line, 10 kA total, and lightning impulses up to 1.5 kA per line (3 kA total).

These surge arresters safeguard sensitive control, I / O, or communication lines in industrial and automation environments, particularly where space is limited and system uptime is critical. Their vibration‑ and shock‑resistant polyamide housing and approvals for intrinsically safe (ATEX/IECEx) zones make them ideal for harsh or hazardous sites. Other versions in the series protect balanced or high‑frequency pairs, DC supplies, or intrinsically safe circuits—ensuring tailored protection across measurement, fieldbuses, PoE links, or unbalanced analog cabling. Remote‑monitor integration means fault status can be centrally tracked, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
