aR Cylindrical Semiconductor Fuse Links – Fast-Acting Protection for Power Electronics

DF Electric’s aR cylindrical fuse links are high-speed aR-class fuses, specifically designed to protect semiconductor components such as IGBTs, thyristors, SCRs, and diodes. These fast-acting fuses provide critical protection in circuits where conventional fuses are too slow to react to short-circuit events.

 Key Features

  • aR operating class – Offers ultra-fast disconnection to protect sensitive semiconductors from damage during fault conditions

  • Voltage rating – Up to 690V AC and 700V DC (L/R = 10ms)

  • Breaking capacity – 200kA at 690V AC, 30kA at 700V DC

  • Current ratings – 1A to 100A

  • Optional striker pin – Compatible with microswitches for remote fault indication

  • Construction – Ceramic tube with silver-plated contacts for high durability and conductivity

  • Standards – Compliant with IEC/EN 60269-1/-4 and UL 248-1/-13

Applications

  • Power semiconductor protection (IGBTs, MOSFETs, thyristors)

  • DC/AC inverters and rectifiers

  • Soft starters and variable speed drives (VSD/VFD)

  • UPS systems, welding controls, and high-speed DC switching equipment

  • Any power electronics requiring low I²t and rapid fault isolation

Why Choose DF Electric AR Fuse Links?

  • Specifically engineered for semiconductor fault protection

  • Fast acting with minimal energy let-through (low I²t)

  • Supports both AC and DC environments with high breaking capacity

  • Reliable performance in industrial automation, drive systems, and precision electronics
