HarshCam

The HarshCam‑7520r is a ruggedized variant of the Sony FCB‑EV7520A/EV9520L block camera, engineered for machine‑vision applications in severe environments. It retains the same 1/2.8″ colour CMOS STARVIS sensor delivering Full‑HD (2.13 MP) imagery at 1080p/60 (and multiple 1080i/720p formats), with a 30× optical zoom and up to 12× digital zoom for a combined 360×super zoom range. The modifications are entirely internal, fixing the zoom and focus mechanisms, to remain fully boresight‑aligned under shock and vibration. The system is verified to withstand impacts up to 40 G for more than 11 milliseconds, compliant with MIL‑STD‑810 standards, without losing focus or zoom position and operating identically to the original Sony block in footprint and interface.

HarshCam is purpose‑built for deployments where image continuity under mechanical stress is critical. Typical applications include military and defence systems (such as armoured vehicle turrets and shooting sights), public safety and law enforcement vehicles, drones and RPAS/UGV/USV platforms, construction and civil‑works machinery, disaster‑relief rescue vehicles, and sport‑event broadcasting in dynamic setups. Key features such as auto ICR day/night switching, wide dynamic range (up to 90–130 dB depending on frame rate), visibility enhancer, defogging, motion detection, privacy masking, noise suppression, slow‑shutter modes, and VISCA/RS‑232 digital control ensure it performs reliably in low light, high contrast, foggy or vibrating conditions, without compromising the high‑quality Full HD video stream.
